Kimberly Schlapman of Capitol’s Little Big Town and her husband Stephen have created The Dogwood Project in memory of Allen Schlapman. Stephen’s brother Allen was killed by a drunk driver while traveling to visit the couple last Thanksgiving. The non-profit organization helps the children who have lost a parent get through the grieving process by planting a tree. More here.
