Kenny Chesney’s new song “Pirate Flag,” a swaggering anthem of rebellion, is the perfect song to listen to while you enjoy the Tampa Bay lifestyle and weather.

I more than love this song, I’m crazy about it! The clever lyrics and Island beat are what I think could make this song another #1 hit for Kenny. Check these lyrics out – “Well I come from a little-bitty, home-grown small town / Smoky mountains, nice place to hang around / Moonshine, that’s where they make it / Put it in a jug, makes you wanna get naked”. OMG, I can relate! I am a Island girl at heart!

“I spend my whole life running around / Still have the wind come and blow me around / I dropped a note in a bottle / To a long-legged model / And I traded it in for a whole ‘nother world / A pirate flag and an island girl,” the singer explains during the chorus.  I say it’s a hitand  bound for #1 on the charts. In fact, last week “Pirate Flag” landed the moment it was released in the #22 spot making it Kenny’s  8th Top 25 debut. The next closest Top 25 chartbreaker is the iconic Garth Brooks who’s done it four times. Wow, what great company to keep!

The video for the song is just as great as the song itself.  It will transport you to an island paradise where weather is hot and the women even hotter. FYI-the women staring in the video are real island girls and all friends of Kenny. There’s plenty of surf, sand and sun to warm your day in this video! There’s also Chesney with his guitar strapped to his (incredibly in shape and looking fine) body, performing on the beach, surrounded by crystal clear water and beautiful girls in bikinis, with a Jolly Roger on black and white flags, waving proudly and presiding over the fun in the sun.

Kenny will be kicking off his 2013 tour schedule March 16 at Tampa’s Raymond James’ Stadium, home of the Buccaneers. The No Shoes Nation Tour will play a mixture of NFL Stadiums, basketball arenas and outdoor amphitheaters across the country.

With “Pirate Flag” named USA Today’s Song of the Week before release and Life On A Rock due April 30, it looks like it could be the No Shoes Nation’s best summer…ever.
