Rays April 2 Season Opener Will Include David Price And A Dog

David Price, last year’s American League Cy Young winner will be starting pitcher for the Rays on their season opener at Tropicana Field on Tuesday, April 2. Price and the Rays face off against Baltimore for the first game of their 2013 season with a little help from one of the most unlikely sources – a dog named Astro.

Astro – 3-year-old French Bulldog owned by Price – will have his own cheering K-9 section for his dad’s fans at the opener, and he also will be the first not stuffed canine to get his own

For $50 – fans of Astro and Price – can buy tickets to the opener in sections 132 and 134, which will be known as “District K-9” when Price pitches. Those fans will receive a K-9 T-shirt and a K-9 card to hold above their heads whenever Price strikes out a batter. To buy these tickets click HERE.

The Rays will give out Astro the dog bobbleheads at their Sunday, April 21 1:40 PM game vs. the Oakland A’s.  So, if you are younger than 14, and planning to be in attendance for that home game, you could be taking home a small version of Astro. Licking, drooling, barking, and waste producing not included.
