Now that the lineup for this year’s big show in Clearwater has been revealed, the countdown is on! Join 99.5 WQYK for a free day of country music Sunday, April 28 at Coachman Park.
This year will again require TWO stages to accommodate this lineup! Billy Currington will headline the show… but there are 10 acts altogether. Some are familiar names, but some may be new to you. As the guy who brings you new music weeknights on the WQYK Top 8 at 8, I figured I could help you brush up on who’s who so you’ll know all the words when these artists take the stage!
I doubt I have to tell you about Billy. His string of hits began on WQYK 10 years ago. But here are some of his biggest hits to get you warmed up!
Can’t wait to Waste Some Time with a beer or 6 when Colt rocks the stage!
The first time I saw Jon live was right here in the WQYK conference room. He was new to the scene and came by to introduce himself and play a few songs. His big song “Missin’ You Crazy” was a big favorite on the Top 8 at 8 in 2012.
You have heard “Better I Don’t” on WQYK for a few weeks now. I’m hoping he also plays the song he co-wrote for Tim McGraw… “Truck Yeah!”
“Ain’t Easy” made its debut on WQYK last month. Listen to these vocals of a 17 YEAR OLD!
A fellow New England country music lover is on the bill. Joel was schooled on country music by his grandfather while they played poker. Before he hits the road with Taylor Swift, he’ll play his new big hit “If You Want Some” live at Coachman Park!
Greg’s a Tampa guy these days. Like me, he did his partying with the heavy metal Gods of the 80s, but has come home to country music. Check out this performance of “Cold in California.”
Just when your ears stopped ringing from the Hunter Hayes Florida Strawberry Festival concert, here we go again! The girls will definitely be lining up early to catch this 18 year old! Check out this cover version of Taylor Swift’s “Mine!”
She’s had a few hits on the country charts over the past 5 years. Her new song “Playin’ With Fire” is hot!
“The Simple Life” made its debut on the WQYK Top 8 at 8 a couple weeks back. And we’re excited to welcome Drake to Clearwater!
See you in Clearwater APRIL 28! The show is free as always, but you can purchase up front seats or VIP access here!
