Eric Church, the guy who had the most nominations (seven) at this year’s ACM Awards, walked away with two. One was for his vocal work on Jason Aldean’s hit “The Only Way I Know,” which won Vocal Event of the Year (Luke Bryan also shared in that award). And Eric also won ACM Album of the Year for his platinum-selling Chief.

After receiving a hug from Taylor Swift, Eric Church made his way to the stage to accept the coveted award, where he gushed about accepting the honor from presenter John Fogerty.

“I can’t believe I just met John Fogerty,” Eric said smiling, still maintaining his cool but obviously in awe. “We should hang out later.” Fogerty could be seen on the sidelines giving the thumbs up.

Eric went on to thank his producer, Jay Joyce, and of course his wife.

Later, in the ACM Awards press room, Church said this award is the one he wanted most.
