2010 MusiCares Person Of The Year Tribute To Neil Young - Show

This week, music icon John Fogerty released his new album, Wrote a Song for Everyone, which brings together new material and new versions of old favorites, with the former CCR front man teaming with a host of musical collaborators, from Bob Seger and Foo Fighters to such country favorites as Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Alan Jackson, Zac Brown Band, and Brad Paisley. And when Brad and John got together to record the song “Hot Rod Heart,” it was an experience that Brad says made him feel really good. Brad told Sony Music Nashville: “I’ve known John awhile, and he is a really great, great, great, great, great man and a really fun person to be around and a tremendous guitar player — and somebody who’s a fan…he’s actually…I’ve been a fan of his my whole life, but he’s actually a fan of my guitar playing in a way that’s very, very flattering to me. He’s bought the same amp and guitar set-up that I use, and when we recorded our song together, he used the same exact amp style and bought a Crook Telecaster like I play and got a Bender put in it just like I have, and so, it was really bizarre for me to be working with one of my heroes who I look over and is copying me. And probably no finer compliment I have ever had as a player than to see John Fogerty want to sort of purchase something I use.”
