Winter The Dolphin Gets Another Staring Role In A Movie

Clearwater Marine Aquarium has announced that a sequel to the Warner Bros. film “Dolphin Tale ” is in the works and this time it will star Winter and her aquarium pal Hope.

The sequel will tell another true story inspired by the life of Winter involving a new baby dolphin named Hope who was rescued by the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in 2010. According to a story in Variety Charles Martin Smith, who directed the original “Dolphin Tale,” has been hired to direct the sequel from a script he recently completed writing.

Negotiations are underway with the original stars of the film to return in the sequel. Those stars of the original “Dolphin Tail” movie were: Harry Connick Jr., Nathan Gamble, Ashley Judd, Kris Kristofferson and Morgan Freeman.

Like the first movie, “Dolphin Tale 2″ be filmed mostly on location in Clearwater at the Marine Aquarium. Filming is expected to begin sometime this fall. A release date for the film has been set for Sept. 19, 2014.
