No Kenny Chesney Concert at Raymond James Stadium in 2014
Well this news sucks. Kenny Chesney says he’s not going to tour in 2014. That means Tampa Bay’s biggest country party won’t happen at The Ray J. No tailgating. No beer. Oh yeah, and no music.
This will be only the second time since 2001 he hasn’t toured. Kenny says he doesn’t want to do an album just so he can tour. Instead, he’d rather chill out for a bit and wait to make a solid album and then hit the road.
Let’s be honest. It’s probably a smart move. “Pirate Flag” was a fun song, but there was a lot of criticism of Kenny’s performance this year. Some said he just lacked the energy of previous tours. I personally think Eric Church stepped up and stole the show.
Kenny told The Hollywood Reporter, “It’s weird to not be looking at next year’s stage design, but I shouldn’t make albums to service the tour. So I’m going to put the music first, dial it back and do the strangest thing in the world: not hit the road next summer.”
Since we’re not going to see Kenny, who would you like to see play The Ray J?
