Fishing Tourney To Benefit Folks With Spinal Cord Injuries
Captain Robert Tramontana is known in the Tampa Bay area as somewhat of a hero! Several years ago, it was Robert who helped save a family whose SUV plunged off the Howard Frankland Bridge. Now, Robert is serving as an inspiration by turning his tragedy into a way to help others.
Robert Tramontana suffered a spinal cord injury following an accident when he dove off a friend’s boat. The Tighten the Drag Foundation was established in his honor. According to their website, “the purpose of this Foundation is to help afford you the opportunity to recover through aggressive rehabilitation, to assist with medical and adaptive equipment and to help Caregivers with the day to day commitment of optimal care giving for a loved one.”
Tighten the Drag Foundation is hosting an Inshore Fishing Tournament this weekend. There will be trophies and prizes for the top three participants in the overall slam division, with a $1000 guaranteed first place!
Captains Meeting and weigh in will take place at Hula Bay in South Tampa. The event will also feature door prizes, raffle, and silent auction.
