In 2009, September 11th was designated as a National Day of Service and Remembrance. To keep the spirit of patriotism, we encourage you to find a local community organization to donate your time to!
On this day, we will never forget those lives that were lost. Here are a few events around the Tampa Bay area that will honor our fallen heroes:
Tampa Firefighters Museum: 9:30am, Downtown Tampa, Zack Street. Mayor Bob Buckhorn will attend along with Tampa Fire Rescue. Ceremony will include presentation of colors.
St. Pete Firefighters Moment of Silence: at 9:57 a.m., all fire stations in St. Petersburg will observe a moment of silence to mark the death of first responders.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office Operations Center: 10 a.m. Fifty white doves will be released in honor of first responders who died.
