Today’s Soldier Salute is a special story of a young man who died doing what he was born to do, and his mother’s strength to honor his memory. Kelly Kowal says that her son, Army Specialist Corey Kowall, knew his calling from the young age of 5 years. He wanted to be in the military.
Corey was killed in Afghanistan on September 20, 2009, during a vehicle rollover caused by an IED. He was 20 years old.
Kelly Kowal established My Warrior’s Place in Ruskin. It is a grief and peer mentoring facility for veterans and active duty members of the militay. Click below to hear the emotional story of Army Spec. Cory Kowal.
