Singer/songwriter Thomas Rhett recently celebrated a number one single with “It Goes Like This.” So, considering what a talented writer he is, we were a little surprised at the opening line he gave us for Write A Song Wednesday. It was… well… Not That Good. I guess he’s not gonna give us the best stuff in his repertoire!

Good thing Clemons Road brought THEIR a-game! “Dancing With the Locals” Plant City’s own Fred Astaire, Cliff Brown, along with Gavin Baulac & Chris Williams put together an amazing tune! CLICK HERE to like Clemons Road on Facebook for a chance to win prizes from the band!

Each Wednesday, we take an opening line from an artist or celebrity. Then, our listeners add lyrics line by line! Our guest band takes those lyrics and turns them into a song!

I’m sitting in New York City
staring at a couple of bottles of water
and a yellow highlighter
Trying to light a cigarette with this broken lighter
Stuck in New York City against my will
Wishing I was home, cooking on my Green Egg Grill
My feet are hurting and I need a ride
A jacked up dually pulled up and I jumped inside
I’m in Chinatown and I feel alright
Come on, everybody Wang Chung tonight!
