This was a very special edition of Write A Song Wednesday! Our opening line was provided by Lo Cash Cowboys… who were also IN STUDIO to perform the final product!! Lo Cash Cowboys are in town playing the Jim Beam Bourbon & Brews Fest this Saturday in Tampa.

Preston & Chris are not only incredible performers, but they’ve also written songs for Keith Urban (#1 “You Gonna Fly”) & Tim McGraw (“Truck Yeah”).

Our opening line was forged from a true story Preston told when he arrived here. He had taken a cab to the studio. His driver, “Pinky,” was a hot-blooded “salsa queen.” (As Preston puts it. LOL) She drove him through a Starbucks drive-thru!

Each Wednesday, we take an opening line from an artist or celebrity. Then, our listeners add lyrics line by line! Our guest band takes those lyrics and turns them into a song!

Lo Cash Cowboys turned some pretty unique lyrics about being in a bad neighborhood with hookers into a great groove… complete with a freestyle rap in the middle! This is one you definitely want to hear!!

I was in pink cab on the wrong side of town
the hoochie mamas were all around
When my cabbie Pinkie said
“Don’t you worry baby, I can get you out of this ghetto safely”
