We decided to borrow this morning’s opening line for Write A Song Wednesday from a Thanksgiving classic, “Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.” In order to make it more creative, the opener we chose was “And the biggest, most important tradition of all is…” We had no idea where our listeners would take it!

The lines got pretty crazy! They involved drinking (as usual), grandma and turkey. Uhhhh… and the toilet. Good thing we had our musician, Justin Grimes, here to use his sense of humor to turn those lyrics into a funny song!

Each Wednesday, we take an opening line from an artist or celebrity. Then, our listeners add lyrics line by line! Our guest band takes those lyrics and turns them into a song! Check out the lyrics, then click below to hear the song!

And the biggest, most important tradition of all is
being a redneck family & getting in drunken brawl
Grandma said “Don’t come back here, y’all”
because Applebees is no place to have a fight
Now go back to the bar & get me another Natty Light
I ate too much turkey, now I gotta go sit on the throne
I’m the king of my double-wide, dontcha know?
and grandma exclaimed as she stumbled out the party
tomorrow’s hangover is gonna be pretty dadgum hearty!
