Tampa Bars Could Get Earlier Closing Time
Big changes could be on the way for those of us who like to go out late and stay out past midnight. A draft ordinance by the Tampa city council would roll back bar closing times from 3AM to midnight. Bars, nightclubs and other venues would have to apply for an “extended hours permit” according to The Tampa Bay Times. Convenience stores that sell carryout alcohol would not be subject to the early closure. This all comes 2 years after shootings at two Ybor City area clubs left one man dead and six people wounded. Some residents and business owners are wondering if trouble in one specific area should have to affect the entire community.
