For most people Christmas music is a preference, like light or dark meat on a turkey. Some like only the classics they grew up with while others like a mixture of old and new songs. Here’s our list of country’s best new Christmas albums for 2013 that give you a little of both worlds.

3. Duck The Halls – A Robertson Family Christmas

If you’re a big fan of the Robertson family of the hit A&E reality series Duck Dynasty this is a must get Christmas album for you. “Duck The Halls” is for the most part is a fun collection of songs that will appeal to most country listeners regardless if they’re Duck Dynasty fans or not. Crazy thing is Wille, Jase, Phil, Si and the rest of the gang can really sing.

One of my favorite tracks is “Hairy Christmas.” Luke Bryan fans will recognize their boy’s voice along side Willie Robertson on this ode to facial hair.

2. Trace Adkins – The King’s Gift

Trace Adkins released his first ever Christmas album this year that he made into a Christmas tour.  The album and it’s Christmas Tour pays tribute to the ancient genre of Celtic music.  This Christmas album has a few current holiday favorites but for the most part the album consists of older and more traditional arrangements. My favorite track is the classic “Silent Night” featuring Kevin Costner and his daughter Lily.

The Christmas show Tour will make a stop at Clearwater’s Ruth Eckerd Hall on Dec 18.

1. Kelly Clarkson  – Wrapped in Red

The best Christmas album by far this year is from Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson. Seriously, is there anything this lady can’t sing? Clarkson’s “Wrapped In Red” debuted on Oct 25 at #3 on the Billboard Top 200. This debut marked the biggest holiday album debut for a female artist since 2010.

Top 3 tracks: Clarkson and Ronnie Dunn duet on a jazzy version of “Baby It’s Cold Outside”. Clarkson, Trisha Yearwood and Reba McEntire singing “Silent Night.” The newly penned “Underneath The Tree”-  which was co-written by Clarkson – is now #1 on The Mediabase Holiday Songs Chart. “Underneath The Tree is my pick as 2013’s best new holiday song and is destined to become a holiday classic that we will all enjoy for for decades to come.
