Cole Swindell is going to be far from ‘Chillin’ It’ in 2014. The Georgia native just may have the biggest year of his life with the release of his self-titled debut album and a spot on Luke Bryan‘s That’s My Kind of Night Tour.

Seems like it would be pretty hard to top the young Georgia native’s 2013. Swindell had the highest selling debut single from a solo country male in 2013 with ‘Chillin’ It’ and he toured with fellow college Sigma Chi fraternity brother and mentor Luke Bryan on his Dirt Road Diaries Tour AND his Farm Tour.

It’s no wonder the song ‘Chillin’ It’ is doing so well on radio and in sales…it’s very clever and hip sounding. Personally I love it! It reminds me a bit of Florida Georgia Line’s ‘Cruise’.

Cole came to the station last summer to play a set for us and I have to say he is one down to earth cool dude and a helluva songwriter.  His writing talents are showcased in several Luke Bryan’s songs including,  I’m Hungover’, ‘In Love with the Girl’, ‘Love in a College Town’, ‘Shore Thing’, and ‘Shake The Sand’. Swindell has written songs for others too including, ‘Water Tower Town’ by American Idol winner Scotty McCreery.

There was one huge sad note for Swindell in 2013…his father who he was very close to passed away unexpectedly. Despite losing his father, Cole has manged to carve out in 2013 the beginning of a very promising career.

Cheers Cole….here’s to 2014 being the best year of your life with your daddy on your shoulder as a guardian angel!

Cole Swindell’s self-titled debut album drops in stores and online on Feb. 18.
