With a bunch of hits in his pocket Keith Urban was recently asked about country/pop music his thoughts were blunt and to the point. “Totally meaningless to me. I make music and people decide what it is. I grew up as a country artist but had very contemporary country influences. If people really really were country fans they’d know it’s always been there in every decade.” Urban has successfully been able to pull off hit songs on the country charts that have also crossed over including his duet “We Were Us” with Miranda Lambert. Keith also said that “what’s great about country is it’s simple, organic way of absorbing pop inspirations into it’s sound and pulling the genre forward. People need to listen to music based on what they love and not what it’s called.”
