Kimberly from The Band Perry gave us the opening line for today’s Write a Song Wednesday…”I’m stuck on the side of the road in Canada”. The listeners decided that the cold weather and Canada themed things should be a part of the song.

Our local artist this morning was Zack Biss and he is 17-years-old and was late to school this morning. Zack attends the Canterbury School and the school is understanding of Zack wanting to play for the WQYK listeners. Zack has help from his friend, Dave, and the two of the came up with a great song about Canada.

Each Wednesday, we take an opening line from an artist or celebrity. Then, our listeners add lyrics line by line! Our guest band takes those lyrics and turns them into a song. Check out the lyrics, then click below to hear the song.

Stuck on the side of the road in Canada
Does anyone have a slab of bacon
I got my hockey skates on
Stuck in a snow bank
Hopped on a moose and road down to Mexico
Take of my joe Namath jacket and head down below
Mail it back at PETA because I’m a changed man
Take margaritas with the seniorita
So much better than maple syrup
Or riding shotgun with torontos mayor
I wanna head down where theres warmer weather
And ditch this snow forever
Don’t have to worry about grizzly bears
Cause I’m so tired of all this 20 below
So I’m headed down to Mexico
