Veteran and Service Dog Denied at Coffee Shop
US Army veteran Yancy Baer entered a Starbucks in Houston with his service dog. He was greeted by an employee who berated him and asked him to leave because it’s against store policy to allow dogs in the store.
After Baer explained it was his service dog and he was a disabled veteran, the employee replied with a comment about the veteran not being blind, so there was no need for him to have a service dog.
Starbucks has issued an apology to Baer and says they’re using that example as training for more sensitivity for their employees.
