Martina McBride may have pushed back her album release date, but that doesn’t mean she’ll be making fans wait until April 8 to hear new music.

Today (Feb. 13), McBride released one of the tracks on her forthcoming covers album, Everlasting. She puts her soulful spin on Elvis Presley‘s monster 1968 hit “Suspicious Minds,” complete with bright horns and back-up singers. Listen below.

In an interview with USA Today, McBride explained why she decided to cover the track.

“There aren’t very many female versions of that song,” McBride said. “It makes sense for a woman to sing it. I focused on the lyrics on this record. This one is about reacting to jealousy and being possessive. Which women can really relate to.”
