Hot on the “comeback trail” Garth Brooks sold out 5 shows at Croke Park in Dublin recently. The shows are scheduled to play July 25th through the 29th. According to The Dublin Herald, there’s a group of people that are threatening a high court injunction if the city goes ahead and grants the licenses for the shows. The story says that concert organizers, local residents, and The GAA which overseas Croke Park wound up in a heated argument in a recent meeting over a 1999 agreement that the venue would only host 3 shows per year. The interesting part of all of this is that the concert tickets were sold subject to license, so promoters have 10 weeks to apply for the license before the first show. The residents who are protesting have five weeks to keep causing problems. Sounds like Garth needs some of his “Friends In Low Places” to take care of all of this!
