Grim Lawsuit Verdict For Garth Brooks Former Employee
If there’s a lesson to be learned for not only one of Garth Brooks former employees, but for all of us, it’s to get everything in writing! Or at least be clear about what you get in writing before you sign off. Lisa Sanderson lost her $226,000 lawsuit to Garth Brooks after claiming that the money was a gift and not a loan from the singer. According to Nashville’s Tennessean, the lead foreman in the jury said “the documents called it a loan, and that’s the way it works.” Sanderson claimed that Brooks gave her the money to help her with a custody battle with her ex husband over their son. The jury also rejected a claim that Garth owed her retirement money for her tenure as CEO to Brooks television and movie companies. Now it’s not over yet. Sanderson still has another suit against Brooks claiming unpaid salary, and bonuses. That suit
is still pending in California.
