Recently I was very lucky to attend Country Radio Seminar in Nashville where there was a showcase of several new artists that are up and coming.  Ones to watch for include Native Run, Paul Jolly (American Idol Season 12 Runner Up), Joshua Scott Jones (Steel Magnolia),Leah Turner, Natalie Stovall and the Drive, and The Brothers Osborne. These new artists are all definitely on their way to superstardom, and if its any inclination of what’s to come, country music fans will not be disappointed.

First band out of the box that I saw was Native Run.  They are signed to Toby Keith‘s Show Dog label. This up and coming duo is labelled the “hottest new thing in country music” and they’re right.  First day off the plane I ended up at Margaritaville on the main drag in Nashville, where I met Rachel Beauregard and Bryan Dawley, both from Virginia, and who met in college and found that their blend of vocals and guitar produced a sound that was far different, yet with traditional values when performing.  I got to know them during CRS week, and they are like brother and sister.  Rachel and Bryan agree that they bring a style to country music that is definitely filing a void that has been lacking in country music.  Check out their music at nativerunmusic.com.  And laugh at the song/video for “Get a Dog” which is hilarious! Watch for these guys soon at WQYK, and come out to see them when we feature them!

More on Paul Jolly next with the CRS blogs!
