Although it seems it should go without saying, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick decided it’s about time to make “upskirt” camera shots illegal and he signed a bill to make it official.

Taking pictures or recording of people up a skirt or down a blouse is now against the law

The law specifically says “whoever videotapes or photographs, with the intent to secretly conduct or hide such activity, the sexual or other intimate parts of a child” faces a sentence of 2½ to 5 years and up to a $5,000 fine.

The law goes into effect immediately.
