A great white shark that was tagged with a GPS-tracking device in Jacksonville a year ago was tracked the whole time and the mileage logged amazed the biologists studying her.

“Lydia” is a 14 feet long, 2,000-pound great white and has covered more than 19,400 miles in the ocean.

She crossed the mid-Atlantic Ridge earlier this week and is the first known shark to swim from one side of the Atlantic Ocean to the other.
