When you are watching an awards show on television, especially a music awards show, do you ever wonder if the voting is based on popularity or talent? If you really do the math and think about it, sometimes it seems that hard working artists and performers are snubbed and not even on the ballot.
Take for instance this years ACM Awards. The very successful Rascal Flatts hasn’t won a music industry award since 2008. The group has had 3 number one albums and 11 top 20 singles since then. Justin Moore has had 3 number one songs and after 6 years is just getting his first nomination at the ACM’s for New Artist Of The Year.
Brad Paisley is coming off an extremely successful year with his number 1 “Wheelhouse” album with three top 40 hits and has zero nominations. How about Kenny Chesney? He had his number one “Life On A Rock” album and sold out large stadiums all over the country this past year. He is also absent from the ACM nomination list. Not to take away from the hard work and honors to those who do receive awards, but it all just makes you wonder.
