I have to admit Sara Evans new album ‘Slow Down’ is crazy good, but it is the duet ‘Better Off’ that stands out as the best track on the album. For me it’s the song’s traditional country roots, lyrics and contributing vocals by Vince Gill that rip my heart out like a good country song should.

The Sara Evans, Vince Gill duet ‘Better Off’ is the 9th track on the 11 songs ‘Slow me Down’ Album and it’s not the first time the two have sung together. Vince Gill collaborated with Evans on her 1998 on her first No. 1 hit “No Place That Far’, even then the magic of their two voices together made my heart melt.

Another reason why I love this song so much is it dishes out the wisdom of a country woman who has been there done that and learned from her mistakes.

For me, Evans and Gill singing together on ‘Better Off’ is pure down home magic…the way country music should be.  I sincerely hope that RCA Nashville releases this song to country radio…soon. It’s bound to be another #1 for both of them.
