A 31-year old college dropout and father wasn’t much of a math person and was known to spend a lot of time in bars.

That all changed after being attacked and knocked unconscious by two men outside of a karaoke bar.

Now, 41-year old Jason Padgett has what experts call “acquired savant syndrome.” His attack forced his brain to overcompensate in areas most people aren’t able to access.

Padgett now sees complex geometric shapes in everyday life and can draw approximations of fractals, by hand.

He is one of only 40 people in the world with this condition.
