USF Grads Banned From Graduation Selfies

University of South Florida Office of Student Affairs has put the message out to graduating seniors to leave the mobile device in their pocket while crossing the stage to receive their diploma.

The Office warning says that inappropriate behavior at The Sundome, including taking “selfies” on stage with President Judith Genshaft or other dignitaries.

Dean of Students Michael Freeman says, “It slows things down and we don’t think it’s the right temperament for commencement.”

Officials say that anyone who violates this warning could face disciplinary action including withholding the degree.

Offstage this rule doesn’t apply.
