If you’re a huge fan of The Voice like I am, you’ve been following the show since the blind auditions and have your favorites possibly locked in. Each season, I tend to lean towards Team Blake. Why? I don’t know, could be that he’s country, that he’s absolutely hilarious, and I love the banter between him and Adam Levine. I also like the show because its POSITIVE. It doesn’t have the obligatory ‘bad guy/girl judge’ and shows respect to the contestants. Its nerve racking enough for the contestants to be up on that stage in front of the power house judges much less be catapulted to stardom on national television with the average audience of 15 million viewers per episode.

If you haven’t made up your mind on who to root for, let me give you a ‘gentle nudge’ towards my favorite. While each singer has their own identity and have a unique sound to their vocal performances, one stands out: Audra McLaughlin. She’s 21 years old, a college student, and has overcome a learning disability. Her story is not unfamiliar to some of us because she also was a victim of bullying. (I, myself, am also a victim of bullying, so I can relate to her story 100%.) I love how she takes on each song and makes it her absolute own with total respect to the original. She reminds me of an earlier Martina McBride, and gives solid performances each week. And the best thing…she’s Team Blake, and she’s country. I can guarantee that even after this is all over, you will still be hearing more from Audra.

To learn more about Audra and her work with the Anti-bullying campaigns follow her on Twitter @AudraLynn21 and on her Facebook fan page.

I will have more from Audra herself coming in the next week. Stay tuned!
