Watch Tim McGraw Slow It Down in New Video for ‘Meanwhile Back at Mama’s’
Tim McGraw thinks it’s time to take a break from the fast lane — at least that’s the message behind his current single “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s.”
“What I wouldn’t give for a slow down,” he sings, “’cause where I come from, only the horses run.”
Today (June 26), McGraw premiered the new music video for “Meanwhile Back at Mama’s,” and it’s as gentle and easygoing as the song’s melody. You can watch video on Good Morning America exclusively today; it will then be widely available on Friday (June 27).
The song was written by Jeffrey Steele, Tom Douglas andJaren Johnston, and McGraw recorded it as a duet with his wife Faith Hill.
In the video, McGraw and Hill sing together on select verses and appear side by side in contrasting scenes. Shots of the two artists dressed to the nines during a glamourous performance recorded during the recent ACM Awards are juxtaposed against more laid-back scenes at their family farm outside of Nashville, rolling out bread dough and staring out the window at the gentle, quiet countryside.
“Oh I miss yeah a little dirt on the road,” they sing, “I miss corn growing in a row.”
