The long awaited announcement from Garth Brooks came today from a live stream on his website that he would return with not only new music but a comeback tour. Back track, Garth retired from music in 2001, and announced today that he’s back with a new record deal with Sony Music, a world tour, and yes…a digital sales of his catalog.

At first Brooks talked his frustration about cancelling five shows in Ireland after being denied permits for two of the five concerts. He said 75% of the 400,000 tickets that were sold were purchased by ticket buyers ages 25 and under. Garth said “I’m the loser in this.”

For the younger generation that doesn’t know, In 1998, he became the first artist to win the Country Music Association’s entertainer of the year award four times.
All we know right now is that his concert dates will be announced July 14th in a location to be announced. There will be 30 cities in total with four shows in each city.

Stay tuned!
