Kenny Chesney to Produce ESPN Documentary on Football Coach Steve Spurrier

Have you wondered what Kenny Chesney is doing to fill his time since he’s not touring? Well, it turns out he’s lending his talents to ESPN Films and Nashville filmmaker Shaun Silva to co-produce a documentary on former Florida Gators and current South Carolina Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier.

The Believer will air on SEC Network on Aug. 27 and will detail Spurrier’s career, which includes his time as the University of Florida’s quarterback and winning a Heisman trophy as well as his nine seasons with the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers and setting records for wins at Florida and South Carolina, according to Rolling Stone Country.

“They spent a lot of time with my family, wife, kids, grandkids and so forth, and a lot of former players. So hopefully it will turn out OK,” Spurrier said at a recent SEC media day.
