Rare Yellow Lobster Found at Publix
A Florida Publix seafood department hosted an extremely rare crustacian and they weren’t even aware of it.
Marybeth Jeitner spotted the yellow lobster in a tank at the grocery store, and instantly wanted to save it.
She purchased the lobster, named it Libby (short for liberation), and kept it in a salt water tank kept cool with ice and frozen bottles.
After asking local aquariums and local marine centers if they could house the lobster, Jeitner finally found a home for Libby at the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, New Hampshire.
The odds of finding a yellow lobster are one in 30 million.
