Dave McKay

Dave was born in Buffalo, NY and raised in Bemus Point, NY: a lake community with lush farmland. He often visits for holidays and vacations. Right out of high school, Dave knew he wanted to have his own radio show. One of his teachers recommended him to the local radio station in Jamestown, NY and after applying, he called every day for five weeks until he was hired. Dave enjoys the accessibility of WQYK artists: back in April after the ACM Awards he hung out in Vegas with Gloriana and to this day the group keeps in touch.  When I asked who he most enjoyed in the studio, he answered Big & Rich “Those two have an interesting dynamic: they are very different, one is very laid back while the other is business like.” His favorite aspect of working for WQYK is the staff: he considers them all strong individuals who provide tools for him to become better. You can hear Dave every weekday morning 5-10am with Cledus and Veronica.
