Doobie Brothers Announce Lineup for Tribute Album ‘Southbound,’ Including Blake Shelton, Hunter Hayes
The Doobie Brothers are calling on many of their country friends for their tribute album Southbound, set to be released on Nov. 4.
Barbara Ann brings you the scoop on yet another new, but traditional country song this time by former DWTS beauty Sara Evans and country superstar Vince Gill.
“Sometimes I’ll think things through before I answer questions or requests like that, but I immediately wrote back, ‘Yes of course! I love the Doobie Brothers!'”
“Whatever song I’m recording, I need it to say something that moves me emotionally,” Evans told Radio.com.
Making her new album “Slow Me Down,” said Evans, “has been a truly amazing experience. I had the chance to [work] with some of my favorite writers and some truly incredible musicians — and now hearing what we created gives me an incredible sense of pride.”
“I honestly have never been more excited to have everyone hear one of my albums,” Evans said of “Slow Me Down,” which hits stores next week.
The upcoming album project will feature select Doobie Brothers hits performed by the band and former lead singer Michael McDonald, as well as numerous country guest stars.
Set for release this March, Evans’ album includes collaborations with Vince Gill, Isaac Slade of The Fray and Gavin DeGraw.
“Sara Evans contacted me about four or five days ago and said she had this awesome video and wanted me to be a part of it,” NASCAR’s Carl Edwards said in a behind-the-scenes video. “Yeah, I’m the guy she’s dumping. Now we’re going to argue a little bit and eventually she’s just going to say, ‘Hey, man. I just can’t do it anymore.'”
