While in the midst of working on the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Wildflower,’ Alaina sat down with Radio.com to discuss the songwriting process and give a taste of what to expect.
“It’s the first song on the album, and it grabs you from the very start,” he said. “I’ve had people actually say, ‘You know, I’ve had this album for a week now and I haven’t gotten past the first song.'”
Don’t call “Amelita” a divorce album. For their new album, the country-folk artists (who are two-thirds of the Dixie Chicks) pushed themselves lyrically by inventing a character named Amelita.
“It really was a wake-up call to make me realize that music is so powerful” said Tritt, “so much more powerful than those of us that create it really give credit for.”
